Andrea Zobec

Andrea Zobec (Belgrade, 1995) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Belgrade in 2017, where she also gained her master’s degree in 2020 with the thesis Antimemorial of the Destruction of Belgrade. During her studies, she worked as a student assistant at the Department of Urban Planning. After her first year of Masters studies, she completed a six-month internship at Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of the University of Manipal, India, where she did a research study on sustainable architecture of river islands. She enrolled in a Masters Academic Studies of Scene Architecture and Design at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad in 2020. During high school, she was a participant at Petnica Science Center (Design-unity of Beauty and Function seminar) and a volunteered at several festivals, such as FIST (Festival of International Student Theatre). She was a part of Serbian team at MEDS (Meeting of Design Students) in 2019 at Spetses, Greece, where she participated in conceptualisation and realization of a design pavilion in collaboration with local craftsmen. Andrea was one of the members of a student team Old as new (serb. Stara kao nova), who in collaboration with the local civil society and association Odbranimo reke stare planine worked on reconstruction and transformation of village schools and dairy farm in Pakleštica village in the area of Stara Planina in South Serbia. During her undergraduate and master’s studies, her work was exhibited at annual exhibitions of most prominent student works at Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade. Her work was also shown at exhibitions Reflections: Architecture of Milan Zloković, 50 years later, Forms of desires, Line, Area, Volume. She has also contributed to numerous student theatre and film projects. She practices contemporary dance.
