Monika Ponjavic

Monika Ponjavić (Banja Luka, 1982) is an architect and performance researcher. She holds three Masters degrees: in Architecture (Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Banja Luka), in Theater Studies (University of Amsterdam) and International Performance Research (University of Arts in Belgrade). As author she participated in numerous art productions among which the most significant ones are the collaborations with: art platform Partizan Publik (Amsterdam) on the Academy of Work: Gastev’s Studio installation project within the exhibition Alternativa: Materiality held in Gdansk (2012); BITEF Festival on the project SingularPlural in Belgrade (2012); New York based organization Yinzerspielen on the site specific performance / installation project A Village in the Woods on a Hill at the Crossroads of the World in Pittsburgh (2013). She is the coauthor of the PAR project Body Never Lies (2010) that was exhibited at the Architecture Section of Prague Quadrennial ’11, Mikser Festival (2012) and 54. October Salon (2013). Monika’s work was published in Performance Research: On Scenography (2013). She took part in PQ’11 Open Spatial Lab led by Dorita Hannah and Omar Khan and she lead number of workshops among which the most important ones are BIT (Belgrade) and WSD2013 (Cardiff). She is the author of the book Film Curation: From the Black Box to the Black Box of the White Cube (2014).
