WORKS OF STUDENTS OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES OF SCENE ARCHITECTURE, TECHNIQUE AND DESIGN EXHIBITED ON THE KALEIDOSCOPE OF CULTURE
Students of the third year of undergraduate studies of Scene Architecture, Technique and Design from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, led by a teaching team consisting of Mia David, PhD, Andrija Pavlović, PhD, Radomir Kojić and Milica Stojšić, PhD from the Sub-Department of Art and Design of the Department of Architecture and Urbanism of FTN, as part of the curriculum for the subject New Approaches to Spatial Design and Technologies in Art and Culture, had the task of realizing artistic interventions in Chinatown of Novi Sad, which would give their view of the connection between the cultural and historical context that this neighborhood provides, and its future related to the project of the Creative District Liman 5 and the platform of the Kaleidoscope of Culture organized by the Foundation „Novi Sad 2022“.
As part of the grand opening of the Kaleidoscope of Culture, during the weekend 4-6th September 2020, visitors had the opportunity to see five works of art by student authors, as well as the exhibition of student projects for spatial intervention in Chinatown. Looking for a connection between the ruins of the former industrial complex and the ideals of art, students Marija Varga, Milica Surutka and Nikola Stojadinovic examined the topic of utopia in art through the site of the specific intervention If I Stay Alone, Place of Aspiration and Destroy the Walls. Exploring the game, as the basis of an artistic process, the installation Swing for Adults by Filip Bajilo invited visitors to change their perspective. In his intervention, Stefan Milošević used discarded construction materials found on the site, which in the format of a workshop became the building material of his installation Re-establishment, thus addressing the topics of ecology and consumerism.
