Serbia at Prague Quadrennial 2015
On this years Prague Quadrennial Serbia will participate both in Section of Coutries and Regions and in the Student Section. Exhibition of Serbia at Prague Quadrennial 2015 is organized by the Museum of Applied Arts (Serb. MPU) and the Centre for Scene Design, Architecture and Technology (SCen). Commissioners, mr Ljiljana Miletić Abramović and Slobodan Danko Selinkić, and the Programme Advisory Board have chosen the theme Politics, by Aby Cohen. The commissioners and the Programme Advisory Board have decided that the theme of the national exhibition of Serbia will be: Process.
In the Section of Countries and Regions, national selection curator Mia David, has chosen ten projects that will represent Serbia. Selected projects deal with the position of politics in the contemporary society, and the relations established between politics, art and culture. The projects will follow one another, day after day forming in time one work of art. This process will be monitored and recorded by security cameras. The material recorded in this way will be archived and showed to the audience in a continues loop. More on the problematic view of the curator and selected projects can be found here.
In the Student Section Serbia will be represented by 14 students chosen by the Curator Team of the Student’s Exhibition trough two circles of selection. The work of the Student Section, called “Process of What DOES matter to me?” is a performative installation in which students tell the stories about formation of identity, individual, group, and collective, under the influence of politics. More information on the work can be found here.
