Pripadanje prostorom je štiridnevna delavnica, v kateri bo plesalec in improvizator Jurij Konjar delil svoj pristop ter v izmenjavo ponudil načine telesnega umeščanja v zunanje prostore. Dnevi na delavnici bodo potekali v treh sklopih: jutranja uglaševanja, dnevna prostorska raziskovanja ter večerne izmenjave. Delavnica je namenjena tako tistim, ki se ukvarjajo z umetnostjo kot tistim, ki se ne; predvsem pa vsem, ki jih zanima delo s prostorom ter si želijo osebnega in ustvarjalnega procesa.

 

Belonging to spaces is a four day wokshop led by dancer and improviser Jurij Konjar who will share his approach and offer ways of installing bodily into outdoor spaces. Days will be structured in three parts: morning tuning session, daily space exploration and sharing in the evening. We invite artists and non- artists motivated to work with space who are eager to be involved in a personal and creative process.

 
 
V umetniškem procesu Ulysses je Jurij tri mesece potoval skozi prostore. V prostore je vstopal in v njih bival. “Vsak prostor izvablja drugačen odziv, drugačen gib.”
Potoval je z namenom, da vtise, ki so ga najbolj zaznamovali, združi v predstavo.
Ta pristop je tudi njegov pristop k improvizaciji. “Če poslušam in nimam pričakovanj, s tem dam prostor drugemu.”
Pristop bivanja in ne delanja v prostorih se mu zdi protiutež njegovi nagnjenosti k delovanju. “Vsak prostor se že giblje.”
In če je med potovanjem iskal točke prispetja in v različnih prostorih dom, kot ga išče Ulysses, potem je pri predstavi iskal skupnost.
 
V Walkaround, participatorni partituri v javnem prostoru, je studio nadomestil z urbanim okoljem. Ko udeleženka ali udeleženec vidi prostor, ki bi ga rad pokazal drugim, jih razpostavi v željeno konstelacijo, nato jim pokaže prostor skozi bivanje v njem. To je tudi verzija enega od orodij Tuning Scores Lise Nelson.
 
Pri videopotovanju Potujoč brez teže ni več hodil, ampak je plesal.
 
Vedno mu je izziv delati zunaj. Dostikrat za vajo pleše zunaj. Okolje preizkusi njegov ples.
 
 

 
In the artistic process Ulysses Jurij travelled for three months through spaces. He was entering spaces and lived in them. Each space invites a different response, a different movement.”
He travelled with the intent to collect into a performance the impressions that marked him the most.
This approach is also his approach to improvisation. If I listen and dont have expectations, I give space to the other.”
The approach of being and non-doing in spaces seems to him a counter point to his activity tendency. Every space is already moving.”
 And if while traveling he was looking for points of arrival and in different spaces home, like Ulysses does, in the performance he was looking for a community.
 
In The Walkaround, participatory score in public space, he replaced studio with urban environment. When a participant sees the space he would like to show to the others, he positions them into a particular constellation, and shows them the space through being in it. This is also a version of one of the tools of Tuning Scores by Lisa Nelson.
 
In videotravel Traveling light he didnt walk, but danced.
 
Working outside is always a challenge for him. Many times he dances outside for practice. The environment tests his dance.

I name as still’ that time and place of arrival, where for a moment my otherwise constant need for change vanishes. This moment can be shared with my partner(s), whether it manifests as stillness or in motion.”

We get lost in the dance, and we like it. Getting lost can be a break from planning, controlling, wanting. It can be a break from responsibility, of being oneself. We stop guiding, and become available…”

“Bil sem presenečen nad tem, da so ljudje drug drugega obravnavali kot ljudi, kot ljudi, ki živijo na kmetiji na podeželju – umetniki in ne-umetniki (…). In v tej atmosferi, ko delaš s svojimi rokami in delaš nepretrgoma in živiš skromno, je neka kontinuiteta interesa znotraj možnosti, ki obstajajo, ki jih ustvariš – lahko na primer zgradiš studio iz lesa ali ne, ali v dialogu za mizo; obstaja kontinuiteta dela, ki prinaša sadove. Je torej delo, ki včasih… Zdi se mi, da včasih… Normalnost življenja kot je na primer vrtnarjenje … To je bil ta prostor ali to je ta prostor.”
 

“I was amazed that everybody treated each other as people, as people living in a farm at the countryside, the artists and non-artists (…). And in this atmosphere of working with your hands and working continuously and living modestly there is a continuity of interest within the means that exist, that you create – for example you build a studio out of wood or not, or in a dialogue behind a table; theres a continuity of work which brings fruit, so its work that is sometimesI think sometimes… The normality of life such as gardening… That was that place or that is that place.

O JURIJU:

Jurij Konjar se je rodil v Ljubljani, kjer je obiskoval ure juda, petja in pridobil prvo tehnično plesno znanje. V Londonu je študiral muzikal, na šoli PARTS v Bruslju pa sodobni ples. Kot plesalec je delal z Les Baletts C de la B in ustvarjal svoja dela. Leta 2007 je utrpel poškodbo glave, ki je premaknila njegovo pozornost k potencialu zdajšnjega trenutka. Leta 2009 se je skozi poglobljeno opazovanje videa predstave Steva Paxtona Goldberg Variations in pogovorov, ki so iz tega vzniknili začel razvoj lastne improvizacijske prakse. V zadnjih letih je ustvarjal in nastopal predvsem v solo predstavah Ulysses (2007), Goldberg Variations (2010) in For Juliano Mer-Khamis (2013) in hkrati sodeloval z Majo Delak, Janezom Janšo, Borisom Charmatzom, Martinom Kilvadyjem. Sodeloval je s Tuning Ensemble, z Liso Nelson pri publikaciji Goldberg Variations in s Stevom Paxtonom pri rekunstrukciji njegovih solo predstav Bound (1982), Flat (1964), pri predstavi Satisfyin Lover (1967) in plesal v kreaciji Quicksand (2016). Ustvarja mednarodne improvizacijske predstave (Goldberg Variations, Ponedeljek ob osmih…), je aktiven v skupnosti kontaktne improvizacije, redno uči delavnice in organizira začasne delovna okolja (Habitat, YIP, The Walkaround). Aktiven je tudi v izobraževalnem in umetniškem projektu Skok čez luno. Trenutno živi v Ljubljani.

 

ABOUT JURIJ:
Jurij Konjar was born in Ljubljana, where he studied judo, singing and where he received his first technical dance training. He then studied musical in Lo
ndon and contemporary dance at PARTS in Brussels.  
Hes worked as a dancer with Les Ballets C de la B, then created created his own work. In 2007 he suffered a head injury that shifted his focus towards the potential of the present moment. In 2009 an in-depth observation of Steve Paxtons Goldberg Variations video, with conversations that sprouted from it, triggered the development of a personal improvisation practice. In recent years hes mostly created and performed solo performances, such as Ulysses (2007), Goldberg Variations (2010) and For Juliano Mer-Khamis (2013), while also working with Maja Delak, Janez Janša, Boris Charmatz, Martin Kilvady. Hes worked with the Tuning Ensemble, with Lisa Nelson on the Goldberg Observations publication, and with Steve Paxton on the reconstructions of his solos Bound (1982) and Flat (1964), on Satisfyin Lover (1967) and danced in the creation Quicksand (2016).  He does improvised performances internationally (Goldberg Variations, Monday at eight…), is active in the Contact Improvisation community, regularly teaches workshops, and organizes temporary working environments (Habitat, YIP, the Walkaround), while being active in mixed ability education & art project Skok čez Luno / Dance ouf of Line. He currently resides in Ljubljana.

Delavnica se bo odvijala na prostem, na posestvu Ustvarjalnega centra Krušče in v bližnji okolici.

The workshop will take place outside, on Krušče Creative center estate and nearby.

 

Delavnica bo izvedena v skladu s priporočili NIJZ ter ukrepi za zamejitev širjenja koronavirusa.

The workshop will implement recommendations and measures for restriction of coronavirus spread of the National Institute of Public Health.

Creative Center Krušče

Studio za raziskavo umetnosti igre je zavod za kulturno dejavnost, ki se ukvarja z umetniško, pedagoško, raziskovalno in rezidenčno dejavnostjo na področju igre. Studio je od leta 1996 realiziral vrsto mednarodnih projektov (gledališke koprodukcije, raziskovalni in izobraževalni programi, umetniške izmenjave in rezidence) ter v Sloveniji gostil vrhunske igralske pedagoginje in pedagoge, strokovnjakinje in strokovnjake s področja psihodrame ter umetnice in umetnike z vsega sveta. Studio izvaja veliko svojih dejavnosti v okviru delovnega centra na Kruščah, zaselku v bližini Cerknice. Zaradi tega je bilo leta 2018 na Kruščah ustanovljeno tudi društvo Studio za raziskavo umetnosti igre – Društvo za umetniško raziskavo, kreacijo, rezidenco in edukacijo Krušče. Od začetka obnove leta 2006 so Krušče gostile umetnice in umetnike ter strokovnjakinje in strokovnjake iz vse Evrope, Rusije, ZDA, Avstralije itd. s področja uprizoritvenih umetnosti, filma, glasbe, likovne umetnosti in književnosti, posebno mesto pa zavzema tudi raziskovalno-izobraževalna dejavnost na področju psihodrame in psihoterapije. Krušče sledijo svojstvenemu načinu organizacije, financiranja, distribucije ter izmenjave umetnosti v sodobnem času, zaradi česar postajajo pomemben in prepoznan prostor raziskave in refleksije ustvarjalnosti tako v Sloveniji kot v širšem mednarodnem prostoru.

 
Studio for Research on the Art of Acting works as an institute for cultural activities devoted to artistic, educational, research, and residency activities in the field of acting. Since 1996 Studio has realized numerous international projects (theatre co-productions, research and educational programs, artistic exchanges and residencies) and hosted a number of distinguished acting teachers, experts in psychodrama and artists from all over the world. Studio holds most of its activities at the workcenter in Krušče, a small village near Cerknica. Since the beginning of the estate renovation in 2006, Krušče hosted performing arts, film, music, fine arts, and literature artists and experts from all Europe, Russia, USA, Australia etc. Beside that importance is also given to the research and educational activities in psychodrama and psychotherapy. Following its own particular way of dealing with the question of how to organize, finance, distribute and exchange art in the current modernity, Krušče is becoming recognized and valued as an important space for investigation and reflection of creativity in Slovenia as well as internationally.
